The Jigsaw Puzzle of Life

I have been enjoying putting together jig saw puzzles of late.  The puzzle I finished tonight was a tough one with lots of bare branches and blue sky which was frustrating.  But by turning the board and looking at it from closer angles, I finally got down to the last eight pieces and then it was much easier because I could see the shape of the piece that I needed in each space.  It is such a great touch to feel a piece slip into place and snug up the puzzle pieces around it.  I like a puzzle with a snug fit.  I am not too fond of the loose ones. One false move and the whole bit is undone.

This puzzle was a scene with a large pond and an old fashioned schoolhouse and a church both reflected in the water.  The white church with the steeple reminded me of our trip East in September.  It is a common sight down East to see a white church in the distance.  I noticed that the reflections looked so real it was hard to tell which was the real thing and which was the reflection.  This made me think of my life and how things fit together. Each day we put some more pieces of the puzzle of our life together.  Actions and attitudes and daily happenings are being fit together.  The bottom line is for me as a Christian….am I reflecting the Lord Jesus Christ who loves me and lives within my life?  Does His love shine forth from me?  That is a puzzle and I hope it is plain for folks to see that I love the Lord and He loves me.
